The Vintage 57 pickup is our rendition of Seth Lover's original "Patent Applied For" (P.A.F.) humbucker pickup design. We draw upon the early P.A.F. models of the late 50's for this pickup because we feel, and many players believe, they possess the best tonal qualities-- qualities so unique that they are still among the most desired guitar sounds today. We have fabricated and sourced the finest and most accurate vintage-style components available. We have also concentrated the greatest attention to our winding formula in order to reflect the mechanical characteristics of the Leesona 102 coil winding machine from which early P.A.F.s were wound. As a result, we have recreated a pickup that is close in appearance and possesses the sonic character reminiscent of the original P.A.F.s. The ideal mix of tight bass, rich and creamy midrange and a clear, sweet top end strikes the perfect balance in this exclusive vintage-style pickup. It is wonderful, warm, vintage tone at its best. The Lord of the Blues (LOTB) set produces pure to the core P.A.F. tone. Using a different winding recipe and a Alnico 4 magnet, we have given this pickup a dynamically rich voicing. The bridge pickup generates plenty of vintage chime and midrange punch as well as clarity on the high end that comes through without ever being harsh. The ultra-sensitive string response of the neck pickup provides an abundant amount of note definition making picked notes and chords sparkle. This set enhances any guitar but works particularly well for Les Paul-type guitars with the mahogany body/maple top combination. This is an outstanding set for the blues, country, or rock player.

Players wanting a P.A.F.-style pickup with more drive and bite but still possesses that prized vintage P.A.F. tone, the Force 59s (formally called the Rebel P.A.F.) are just what the tone doctor ordered. These bad boys are the hottest of our three P.A.F.-style pickup sets. We revved-up the bridge pickup with an Alnico V magnet, offset the coils, and wound it hotter than the average P.A.F.-style bridge pickup. We've also wound the neck pickup in a similar fashion. Over winding the coils to the precise level that we have chosen accomplishes two things. First, we have boosted the frequencies in all the right places. A robust tight low end, focused, slightly compressed midrange, and a smooth top end, all come together to form that distinctive P.A.F. vibe.
